The Central Coast furthermore boasts a range of urban shopping centres, bursting with brand names, specialty stores, cafés, restaurants and other activities.
From Ettalong Beach to The Entrance, you’ll find a multitude of coastal adventures. Sail through sparkling waterways, surf big breaks or embark on a coastal drive in search of the perfect spot for a beachside picnic.
Erina Fair is the largest single level shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere featuring over 300 stores. Westfield Tuggerah, split over two levels, hosts over 250 stores. Bateau Bay Square, Imperial Centre Gosford and Lake Haven Shopping Centre are also thriving retail precincts.
The Galleria, Ettalong Beach has an undercover shopping precinct and boasts 50 shops and 5 cafes open every weekend. In addition there are 10 Restaurants, the 6 screen Cinema Paradiso and a 40 room boutique Motel onsite. The variety of products in the Galleria is amazing and includes home décor, rugs, art, fashion, jewellery, hardware, haberdashery, health products, sensational food products, key cutting, personalised gifts and children’s toys.

Avoca Beach is primarily a residential village but also a popular tourist destination with a variety of restaurants and cafes as well as a post office, newsagent, pharmacy, and mini mart along with historic cinema, a hotel, bowling club, motel, and caravan park.
There also is a park with swings and slides and AquaFun Avoca Lake is home to Australia’s largest selection of modern human-powered pedalboats, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for hire. If you can’t decide which one to hire, you can try them all with the ‘extra fun’ option. No bookings necessary for casual hire as they have plenty of equipment.
Copacabana is a small suburb in a great location about 1 hour 20 minutes north of Sydney on the Central Coast between Avoca and Macmasters beaches with essential shops, such as a general store (which also has surfboards for hire) coffee/take-away shops, chemist, ice cream shop, bottle shop, news agency with post office, hair & beauty salons and restaurants incl. a wood fired pizzeria.
There is a park with swings and slides as well as a skatepark and tennis courts and you can get fit walking the hill to Copacabana lookout and read extracts from Captain Cook’s logbook on his travels in the area or enjoy watching the whales pass in whale “season” – June/July.
Forresters Beach, or ‘Forries’ as the locals call it, is a coastal neighbourhood located between Wamberal and Bateau Bay. This coastal community is surrounded by a mix of quiet residential areas, a stunning walking trail through Wyrrabalong National Park, plus its own undeveloped beach offering a cracking surf break, rock pools and the hidden Spoon Bay tucked around the headland.
Forries is home to a cluster of gorgeous, friendly small businesses including a lifestyle and homewares boutique, beauty therapy, cafés, restaurants, takeaways, pizzeria and bakery. All these little local spots are ready for you to explore just minutes from the beach itself.
Macmasters Beach is a south-eastern suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia on the Bouddi Peninsula and it was named after Allan MacMaster who was one of the first Land owners in this area in 1855 after coming to Australia in 1839 from Scotland.
The beach itself is a beautiful natural looking beach with a sheltered rock pool area for kids and the Surf Club kiosk serves up classic lunches with milliondollar views. Macmasters Beach is a popular picnic spot because it’s one of the only ones around with shade.
It’s also on a beautiful site at the foot of Bouddi National Park and the coastal views are not bad either. If you’re looking for somewhere to swim and picnic with shade, Macmasters is an ideal spot, however, be mindful the easterly wind can blow strong in the afternoon, particularly in summer.
Nestled between Terrigal and Avoca Beaches, North Avoca is a laid-back beach village on the Central Coast, known for its strong surfing community and as the ideal tranquil holiday destination for leisurely walks or catching waves. In addition to the excitement of surfing, fishing, or exploring rock pools, visitors enjoy convenient access to a variety of activities and attractions. A leisurely stroll along the golden sands takes you to Avoca Beach, where you can indulge in a delightful meal at a charming café or restaurant.
North Avoca stands as a pristine, patrolled beach, a haven for nature enthusiasts, and a perfect escape from the daily grind. It warmly welcomes families and their four-legged companions, offering ample parking, even during the bustling summer season.
Terrigal is an iconic town of the Central Coast, renowned for its pristine beach, lagoon and relaxed seaside vibe.
In addition to its reputation as a top surfing spot, Terrigal offers a wide range of holiday activities, including fishing, swimming, surfing, boating, diving and scenic walks.
Take an easy walk up the Skillion Lookout on Broken Head to grasp panoramic coastal views, alternatively, chill & unwind by the lagoon or stunning rockpool that is loved by tourists and locals alike, creating the perfect place for families to spend their day in the sand.
End your day strolling Terrigal’s unique shopping strip known as “The Esplanade” where you’ll find buzzing restaurants, cafes, boutiques, ice cream parlours and rooftop bars.
Located in the heart of the Central Coast, Wamberal is all about cruisy coastal living and laid-back lifestyle. Notorious for its beautiful beach, lagoon and waterfront properties, the small suburb is Terrigal’s quieter next-door neighbour and home to families of all shapes and sizes.
Wamberal Beach is unspoilt and features off-leash dog areas, a rockpool, and views stretching to Terrigal Beach and Forresters Beach; the area called ‘The Bend’ attracts surfers from all over.
Wamberal Lagoon, which sits just behind the northern end of the beach, is ideal for water sports and birdwatching and for the adventure-seekers, the sprawling Wyrrabalong National Park is a few minutes away, perfect for hiking and exploring on weekends.
